Pet Policy

Under
certain circumstances well groomed and well behaved dogs
are allowed in Cabins only.
Approval must be obtained prior to your arrival and your pet
must be confirmed by name in your reservation confirmation letter
to indicate approval.
Dogs only are allowed, one dog only, weight limit of 80 pounds,
over one year in age, and house trained.
There is a $25 per day pet charge which is reduced for a stay
of five nights or longer by 10%.
There
is a $150 pet security deposit, which is taken at check-in
by credit card "off-line approval" or cash. Your
pet security deposit is completely refundable if there is
no pet damage. At check-in you are requested to acknowledge
our Pet
Security Deposit Policy, Guide & Information which
explains why we take a pet deposit and the different things
that can cause full or partial forfeiture of your deposit.
Guidelines are also given so that you are aware of
the things that need to happen to make sure that your pet
does not cause any problems for you, the property or other
guests.
The
Galax, Cullasaja and Hemlock Cabins have pet proof decks
that open directly to your Cabin by sliding doors so that
your pet may come inside and go outside while your are enjoying
your Cabin and you will not have to worry about the pet
getting loose. The Chickadee Cabin is an excellent
choice because its private covered terrace opens directly
out to a very private five acre open pasture banked by woods.
The Chickadee Cabin is our most private Cabin since no pathways
or roads cross your open pasture land that you view from
your Cabin. Blue Moss and Red Cedar Cabins both have
large porches that open directly to a park like setting
with long range views.
We very much desire that your faithful companion have a nice
and warm welcome at Fire Mountain. Personalized in accommodation
amenities are awaiting your pet at arrival to make their "new
place" feel more like home since traveling and a new environment
can be stressful at times for some pets.
Certain
breeds are not accepted and we ask that barkers and unruly
pets be boarded. Further it is understood that if
a pet becomes a problem for other guests or the property
or the staff that the dog will have to be removed from the
property, at any time, if requested by management.
Further it is a requirement that maid service be provided
on a daily basis in your Cabin with the pet not present.
We
are extremely proud that we are pet friendly and that Fire
Mountain is a most spectacular environment for pets and
their owners. We have over 50 acres of open pasture
and meadows for you to play in with your pet in addition
to our hiking trails on our hundreds of acres, all located
on top of Fire Mountain at an elevation of over 4,000 feet.
Make sure to bring a camera to record this unique
experience with your pet.
